OTTO pizza

If you haven’t been to Chester Connecticut, you’re missing out. Nestled in the woods near Haddam and Higganum, it’s easy to miss, but certainly one of the quaintest and most idyllic neighborhoods the state has to offer. Complete with an adorable downtown, backyard folk music performances (open to the public), wonderful camping nearby, and ice cream shops with flavors like lemon blueberry and cardamom cherry, it’s the ideal spot for a summer weekend dining adventure.

No trip to Chester is complete without stopping for a bite at OTTO Pizza. At the end of the downtown strip, you’ll find an inviting pizza restaurant with a small indoor dining space and beautiful tented backyard. Adorned with string lights and surrounded by overgrown nature, this pizza oasis is the perfect spot to enjoy a creatively topped, fluffy-crusted, Neapolitan wood-fired pie.

Nothing excites me more than a delicacy pizza with a unique mixture of toppings. OTTO is serving up flavors like (prosciutto, apples, gorgonzola, herbs) and (smoked pork, chimichurri, cherry tomatoes, red onion, fresh mozzarella) or perhaps you’d prefer (egg, bacon, potatoes, ricotta, scamorza). The stand-out for me was this corn and tomato pizza (pictured). Corn charred to perfection and a flavorful, soft, olive-oil-dippable crust makes for the ideal summer bite.

Next time you’re in CT, swing over to Chester for a sunset stroll and dinner at OTTO.

Thank me later :)
